Sobia is a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). She has a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology with Distinction from Yorkville University. Bachelor of Arts (Health) with Specialized Honours in Psychology from York University, and she is also registered with the College of Early Childhood
Educators. She holds her RECE (Registered Early Childhood Educator).
Sobia believes that life takes multiple steps toward growth. Essentially, growth towards freedom to be authentic, vulnerable, compassionate, and courageous. This means the therapy process is a collaborative mission between the client and the therapist. Sobia will work at your pace and provide a safe space for exploration. She will engage the client to explore the openness that will allow room to identify, understand and overcome personal problems and achieve personal objectives.
Sobia inclusively works from an integrative systemic approach, implementing modalities such as Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), Trauma focused-cognitive behavioural therapy (TF-CBT),
Strength-based approach, Mindfulness-based approach, Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and culturally sensitive.
Sobia has experience working with individuals of all ages and diverse backgrounds. She sincerely regards all age groups and enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has experience working with an array of individual concerns such as severe PTSD, PTSD-war survivor, trauma, depression, anxiety, fear, suicide ideation, loss and grief, career insecurities,
life transitions, emotion regulation, relationship issues, stress and burnout, and insecurities to list a few.
Fluency in English, Urdu, Hindi and Punjabi.
