Julianna is an intern clinician and has been with the Peel Psychology and Therapy Centre for the past 2 years. She completed her Post Graduate Certificate in Addictions and Mental Health at Durham College and her Bachelor of Science (Hons.) Psychology degree from the University of Guelph. She is also certified in Pet Bereavement Counselling. She is currently striving to achieve a Masters in Social Work degree with the goal of becoming a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist.
Julianna enjoys working with youth and adults who experience anxiety, worry, and paranoia. For the past 4 years, she has supported teenagers and young adults cope with anxiety. She believes in empowering clients to recognize which strategies and approaches work best for them, and helps her clients work towards goals at a pace that they are comfortable with. Julianna is also interested in supporting youth and adults who struggle with depression, grief, and addictions.
Julianna’s 10 years of working with domestic animals in animal shelter and veterinary settings has peaked her interest in specialized therapy. This prompted her to become certified in individualized pet bereavement counselling and she is currently working towards creating group therapy for pet bereavement. In addition, she is able to provide therapy for those working in the vet industry, as she understands from first hand experience the stressors that come with the field.
Julianna takes a client-centred approach and values the privilege of having the opportunity to learn from her clients. In addition, Julianna is honoured to be working closely alongside her supervisor, Dr. Euling Chong. She is excited to continue learning new approaches in order to assist her clients in the best way possible.
