Simon is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with additional education and training in clinical psychology, counselling psychology, and mental health counselling.
With over 10 years of clinical experience providing treatment and assessment of adults and adolescents; Simon has trained and worked in hospital, community, university, and private mental health settings. He is comfortable addressing a range of client difficulties including depression, anxiety, trauma, panic attacks, obsessions/compulsions, chronic pain, stress, grief and loss, relationship and family issues, academic/career concerns, and various other identity struggles and life transitions.
Additionally, Simon has extensive experience assisting those who are adjusting to short/long-term disability, workplace injury, and motor vehicle accidents.
In his work with clients, Simon utilizes several evidence-based treatment approaches including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy. His focus though is always on supporting clients through their specific challenges, and creating a safe environment for people of all cultural identities; including those defined by race/ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and disability.
